Kiawah is not for everyone. It is for rich people who go to the beach, play tennis, golf, bike and spend family time together. There is no nightlife. No go carts. No mini golf. It is beach, sports, dinner and bed. Some people may hate that. If so stay away. It is heaven for people who love it.
This is all true. Like it or not, take it or leave it. On Kiawah, you don’t see a bunch of kids on devices and needing to be entertained 24/7. The culture of these families is spending a lot of family time together doing things “off the grid“. You see many multi generational families, enjoying their time together. You see older teenagers, having fun on the beach or in the pool, not sulking in a device on their towel. It’s a place to go and chill and reset and that’s important for kids and teens too. With all that said, I recognize not everyone is down for that lifestyle.
You don’t think people do all of this in places with nicer weather and much better amenities?
There is not better weather and what amenities are you talking about?
Of course there is better weather. It’s way too hot there in the summer. And regarding amenities, there are places with much better restaurants, golf courses, tennis clubs, yacht clubs, housing, museums, less people, etc etc etc. if you don’t know, you better ask somebody.
It gets hot in the summertime everywhere. Want a cool summer destination? Hit up Iceland - a DCUM favorite. Better golf? It is good enough for the Ryder Cup. Tennis? Fewer people? Sounds like you have never visited. There’s a wide range of housing, from condos to multi-million dollar mansions. Plenty of excellent restaurants and museums nearby in Charleston
