These posts have no value. It doesn’t matter what is considered “cool “. It matters what your daughter likes. People have said it over and over go to the mall where there is a large variety of stores, look in the stores, try on what she likes and buy it. I have three kids with three distinct styles of dress. Their favorite stores are not the same. One suggestion - There is nothing cool about $40 plastic shoes called crocs. Buy some decent footwear.
Every middle school girl I know is currently wearing crocs everywhere. We are in an UMC neighborhood.
And they look ugly. They have ugly plastic on their feet. And I don’t believe every girl is wearing crocs. There is probably a small group of girls who love fashion and refuse to buy something ugly just to fit in. The future leaders of America! Or at least during fashion weeks.
I’d love to see pictures of you and your fashion choices when you were 11-14, I’m sure you looked fabulous  As the parent of 2 MS girls, not *everyone* wears crocs but the vast majority do, and they probably think you wear ugly clothes too.
Best dressed in high school. My daughter was also best dressed in middle school and high school (they actually did middle school awards). I don’t remember anything item of clothing that everyone wore in school, there was a lot of variety. Neither of us went into any trends. There have been posts that said everyone wore crocs. I find that hard to believe and hopefully these girls new to middle school will find clothes that make them happy, not a carbon copy of everyone else.
The fact that you are touting best dressed awards both for yourself and your child while referring to other children’s clothing as ugly tells me all I need to know about who you are as a person.
+1. We can’t take this person seriously. What school does best dressed awards nowadays? She must be 80 with a 50 year old daughter.
