I used to study schools professionally and for my money Howard County, Md. is the best overall bang for your housing buck in the DMV, though obviously there are great and not-so-great schools in every district. Rigorous, diverse, lots of wonderful options. But obviously, not a doable daily commute to DC so off our list. [/quote]
