The brain drain from places like Florida and Texas will be slow enough that it won't really be noticed until it's critical - that's my 2 cents anyway.

If the GOP continues to dominated in red states I think the quality of life (and cost of living) will improve in blue states and decline in red states but you won't see any real effects for 15-20 years. I think one more electrical grid failure may start to turn the tide in Texas, but I'm not exactly holding my breath. There seems to be a massive amount of ignorance and apathy among the citizenry that governmental actions are carried out through the officials they elect.[/quote]

PP here. That's pretty much my attitude. I am from TX and always thought I would end up back in TX at some point/for retirement. I have no intention of doing that now. The electrical grid, water, the unliveable weather. The politics are the cherry on top. [/quote]
