[/quote] The "trade schools" in the U.S. are for-profit student loan boondoggles that prey on kids from low-income and working class backgrounds and saddle them with debt. These "schools" have atrocious graduation rates and often jettison the kid with no degree and student loan debt, making them worse off. At least if I drop out of a 4-year college, I can use some of my skills to get an office job. Kids who drop out of trade programs are not really qualified in anything because they never got their certification. In fact, they would've been better off trying to get into an apprentice program with their local trade union. [/quote]
