They offered no support for my ADHD child.
SAES does not claim to be a school for a special needs child, and it is not one. Several posters here have observed that SAES has become more academically rigorous over the past 10-15 years. So I am not surprised that there were no special supports provided. There are other schools which do provide more supports or even full supports for such children. One might want to look into those school options. Special Needs forum is more likely than Private Schools forum to offer helpful advice on which schools provide support for an ADHD student.
In our experience this is true. Our DC started at SAES but within a year it was clear it was not a good fit. Our challenge was we were fully transparent with SAES about our DC’s strengths and challenges throughout the admissions process and we were assured the school would be a strong fit. However, once there we quickly became aware that SAES both did not understand our child or own up to the school’s significant limitations. It is a wonderful school for a neurotypical child, but student with any form of learning difference, even if intelligent and capable, will not be adequately supported or set up to succeed.
I think you go a little too far here as you are too categorical with your assertion SAES will not adequately support any child with any neuropsychology diagnosis. My DC was diagnosed with inattentive ADHD and other challenges after arriving at SAES in MS. DC has thrived there. However, there were no special services provided in DC’s case other than extra time on tests and an accommodation to be able to type. DC goes in for help with teachers and we do have a tutor help to help in subjects that are more difficult.
