Teachers: how much are you really looking forward to this? Just curious. You probably get like 15-20 min to eat, so what would you like?
I’ve responded to a couple of posts. Honestly? Nothing. No food. I bring my own. If you want to do something, send me a nice email or a card. That would be greatly appreciated and I would be touched. The truth is most of us do not look forward to this week. At best, it’s a disruption. At worst, it gives us more to do.
So you complain you're not appreciated. Then complain when something is done in appreciation. Got it. I've always done my best to donate/volunteer for this stuff but I guess I'll rethink it if htis is the attitude.
This isn’t about you. It’s about what’s easiest for teachers. Try listening instead of foisting your grand ideas to make yourself look good on the whole school.
Oh, you are making some gross generalizations. First of all, no one knows me at my large HS as I'm a behind the scenes type, so "making myself look good" isn't a thing. And, frankly, I wouldn't care. I volunteer and donate b/c I want to show appreciation (I know that may be a hard concept for you, which I'm guessing is the reason for your bit----ness). But, if it's not appreciated, then I won't. As for what's "easiest for teachers", our large HS has a diversity of people in it and lots of them. They surely all have different preferences and you're not going to please everyone. That's a fact. So we pick something and run with it. Hardly my "grand idea." Are you always this simple and foolish? If you don't like it, feel free not to partake and leave it to those who enjoy it (and as we had next to nothing left over at our event plenty seemed to enjoy it just fine). But, I doubt that being so miserable you are able to enjoy much of anything. I feel sorry for you.
