What an immature jerk. I’m sure the mother was trying to do everything in her power to get her baby to stop screaming. He could’ve just ignored it or even tried to help, but instead it was all about him. He was given the option to get off the plane and he refused, thereby making everyone else on the plane deplane. Awful behavior!
Yes, the guy is a crazy jerk. He should have cranked up the volume on his headphones and tuned out the crying baby. But I’m not convinced the parents were comforting the child. I once sat next to a woman with an infant on an overnight flight to London, and she had her baby in a sleeping basket on the floor. The kid was screaming and obviously should have been held to stop the crying. After 5 minutes, I asked the woman who was checked out with her eyes closed if perhaps the baby would stop crying if she picked her up and her response was that the baby would eventually cry herself to sleep and that would be easier. I didn’t respond beyond rolling my eyes, but the flight attendant came over and asked the woman to pick up her baby and calm her down.
