This. Look at any couple walking around DC over 35 over 40. Often a fairly attractive woman with at-best an average man. Sometimes the opposite. Ppl marry for stability, similar education, money, desire for family, etc., and average dudes often come out on the good end of this. [/quote]

So the man did not pick a woman out of his league. If the woman got out of that relationship, she'd rather be alone than marry an overweight guy. She is there because she is already in and sees other qualities now. She did not start out that way.
