DD goes to a private school. Most of her friends' are doctors' kids. Let me tell you about doctors in America. In the rest of the world, a doctor is just middle class, maybe upper middle class. In America doctors are millionaires while people are going bankrupt because of a serious illness. These doctor's families in DD's have multi million dollar homes, lake houses, other properties, they drive Teslas, fly their 5-6 family members to Europe of every spring, fall, winter and summer breaks. They complain that first class tickets have gotten a bit too expensive. Anyway, DD's birthday is coming up soon and I was asking her what she wants for her birthday and what other girls get for their birthdays. Mind you, they are 13. DD said they get designer stuff, like her friend got two Louis Vuitton bags for her birthday. Seriously? Several thousand dollar bags? I was asking on this forum about buying a Dyson Airwrap for Christmas and everyone said $600 is way too much for a gift for a 13 year old. This is just a vent. Blows my mind.
Lady, you can afford a high end private school or a $600 kid's gift and yet you are here complaining about designer bags. If designer bags are what's important to you then get your kids out of private school, put them in public schools and buy them all the designer bags that your heart desires. Also I find it odd that you asking the forum for permission to buy a Dyson Airwrap (full disclosure I have no clue what that is). If you can afford it and it adds value to your kids life then go for it. You don't need strangers votes. Overall I what I have to say is grow up, prioritize what important to you and don't try to keep with the jones because there is always going to someone wealthier than you and some people just spend more lavishly than others.
