I think a lot of this is cultural. I see most of the people moving to exurbs like Aldie are south Asians (specifically Indians). They don’t mind traveling to DC,McLean etc, as they almost always do car pooling. This reduces the need for them to stay in close in areas. With the transportation issue out of the way, they get more house for lesser price than close in areas. While anyone can do this, White Americans prefer privacy and rather drive in their car alone rather than traveling with someone else. It is just that this cultural preference is playing a large role in the explosion of areas like Aldie and will continue to do so.
Stay away from drugs, ok?[/quote Drugs? No, this PP is correct. We’re out in Eastern Loudoun and the poster is absolutely correct. Our neighborhood has shifted considerably in the last 5-6 years with a booming Indian population. This is not racist it’s just the truth and a fact. The newer construction, larger homes and community feel are appealing. This area is shifting rapidly and anyone not acknowledging that simply doesn’t live out here. Anecdotally, my kids were in camp last summer and one day I with an Asian mom who was worried about the influx of Indian families in the community. The next day I sat with an Indian mom and she mentioned the influx of Muslims in the neighborhood. Lol everyone is tribal!
