For example, my FIL is of Welsh ancestry (but his ancestors also fought in the civil war, so it's not a recent immigration) and he wanted our kids to call him by the Welsh word for grandpa. DH and I got a lot of laughs over a one year old trying to say "taid" which is pronounced more like "tad-quad".[/quote]
