I’m not, though. One set of friends lives a mile from the downtown area in a 2k sq ft 1940s house on half an acre that they bought 2 years ago for $440k. I bought something very similar in Falls Church (Ffx Co) for $850k with about half as much land.[/quote]

Prices have skyrocketed since then. You can’t compare something bought two years ago to prices now. Look at the post of the home located 45 minutes from Downtown that is worth 850k in Richmond. It’s basically the same as a property located 45 minutes from downtown DC, take Manassas for example. [/quote]
