In the past, APS always cited the need to stay competitive with the surrounding counties.  There are different ways to achieve this; salary, benefits, support system.   I cannot believe they can’t figure this out.[/quote]

Okay but to attract the replacement fresh out of college of whatever and they can decide between FFX (cheaper housing, good schools for own kids, and short commute) vs Arlington (expensive housing or long commute, lackluster student performance) why would they go here??[/quote]
Better social life, more roommate/group housing/, closer/better opportunities for second jobs. I work with a lot of young teachers who do a couple serving or bartending shifts. [/quote]
