OP, this is so timely. I was literally standing in the bathroom with a box of dye to do my roots yesterday, and just looking at my hair and the box and thinking "I don't want to do this anymore." I threw away the already mixed dye because I just want to be done. I know it's going to be a bit pain full to grow out the dyed/highlighted hair, but I think in the end I'll be happier with it. My hair is prone to brassiness anyway, so the highlights are hard for me to maintain -- I have to use special shampoo to combat the yellow/orange.

But yes, the harsh line is the hardest part. I honestly think avoiding that line has been the main reason I've continued to dye my hair over the last three years -- I started seriously wanting to just let the gray show since Covid but have had trouble accepting the look of the dark roots with the gray streaks.

I'm going to try a glaze and see how it goes. It's okay if it's not perfect. I just don't want the sharp line where my highlights start. I think I might actually need to do the glaze allover to blend the highlights with my roots/grays?

If you have info on the color of the glaze you are using and how it is applied, I'd love to know more.[/quote]

I get it done at the salon. She’s careful about the color not being too warm since mine goes brassy easily too. [/quote]
