That's a bummer to hear. I want to avoid living anywhere too insular. We had that when we lived in the Midwest and it wasn't fun.

New England is VERY insular. Most people stay in their hometowns and don’t socialize with people outside of family/friend groups. It’s kind of depressing to be honest. I would move to a college town or a more affluent, tourist-rich coastal area. [/quote]
