Given the inflation (HEPI applicable to education at 5.8% in December and the inflation around 7%) the increase is rational. I hope there’s an even more robust fin aid to assist more children. What is missing from the landscape are academic and art scholarships.

What people forget us that all the well known schools cost about the same (ballpark). As a rational consumer, for the price anywhere in that 40-55 (and most are in the 50-55), one should want the best of the best. So I’d expect any drop in the applications due to the fees to hit the 3rd and 2nd tier first. And not affect the top schools at all. So if you’re sending a kid to the private school and that’s the price, SFS is the safest investment.

Should you instead buy them a house, a yacht, set up a trust fund, and go to a public? Maybe so. Personal choice.
