I live in western Loudoun and most of my neighbors who have been here a reasonably long time are feds or people who have been mostly-telecommute for years. The new neighbors tend to be people who moved out here from closer-in areas like Arlington, Ashburn, etc. because they sold their previous closer-in house and still wanted to be in the area but probably still paid less for a bigger house/multi-acre lot/farmette out this way. Some of them are transplants to the area, but the majority of new families that I meet are from eastern Loudoun.

We moved here a number of years ago from another part of the country where multi-acre lots are practically unheard of. So we paid more for our house because it was a jump from medium COL to HCOL, but we also got a lot more in sf and lot size. My spouse works in Reston/Herndon tech corridor.[/quote]
