Blacks in NC came out en masse encouraged by their pastors to vote against gay marriage. Look at the voting trends and maps etc. Places like Research Triangle voted against the amendment and heavily black areas voted for. Hypocrites.
Links to the data? While I'm in favor of same-sex marriage, it's not hypocrisy. If it's hypocrisy to discriminate against a group of people because the group of which you're a member has suffered discrimination at any time in the past, hypocrites on the same-sex marriage issue include: 1. Women 2. Irish people 3. Mexican people 4. Italian people 5. Jewish people 6. The list goes on
Mexican people? Links to the data?? (I really hope you realize that not all "hispanics" are "Mexican" )
The list is a list of people who have faced discrimination, especially discrimination in the US, solely for how they were born. You don't know the history of discrimination against Mexicans in the US? Look into Hernandez v. Texas and hit up your local library, Google, or Amazon for more information. As for the part in bold- I listed specific races, genders, and religions on my list. For example, Irish and Italian instead of just a blanket categorization of European. But thank you for enlightening me that not everyone who hails from Central or South America is Mexican. Whowouldathunkit?!
Actually NO ONE that is from Central and South American is Mexican. Many people don't realze that. So yeah, Whowouldathunkit? I am sure that people from other countries have faced discrminiation. I don't have to google or go to the local library because well, I just have lived it. A lof of that discrminiation felt by immigrants is from African- Americans evn towards immigarnts from mostly black countries. Yes, that is hypocritical as well. In terms of why can't blacks be anti-marraige. They can be as just like anyone else they are allowed whatever views they want. It just seems intersting given the history of dicrminiation against them, they would want to limit the rights of others
So you're saying Mexico is not a part of Central America? No, I'm really asking...
