My son just got engaged to a wonderful young woman. He's 28 and she's 26; they've been dating for two years. They met through her mom, who was the volunteer coordinator at Big Brothers/Big Sisters, where my son was a volunteer mentor.
So young to get married. Statistics are against it lasting.
Statistics are NOT against 28 and 26! DCUM’s insistence on infantilizing people over 25 is just exhausting. DH and I got married at 26 and 27, 10 years ago. If DCUM is any metric we are doing better than 99% of you all in terms of marital happiness.
Keep trying to make yourself feel better. It is ridiculously young to get married. Did you both actually graduate from college?
Just like PP, we met at 25 and 27 (not in college but through common friends)and both had professional degrees and career track jobs. We feel so thankful listening to dating problems people in their 30's and 40's face.
Yeah, seriously. We were each 28 when I got married and we had a masters degree and PhD between us! Friends I know who married at 26/27 typically were couples who met in college and waited a long time to actually get married.
