Don’t trr we ll anyone about Chain Bridge.
I don't think there's a problem with current connections between VA and DC. The issue is between VA and MD and MD's boneheaded refusal to improve connections to VA at its own economic detriment.
How would it benefit Maryland to spend billions of dollars to build a highway and bridge to make it easier for Marylanders to drive to jobs in Virginia?
Exactly. Invest in jobs so Marylanders don’t have to make the commute.
If you invest in infrastructure it will convince businesses to locate in MD and create jobs. What business in their right mind would locate somewhere that would be difficult for their clients and employees to access?
I am all in favor of the state investing in infrastructure. But not more highways. That only benefits the highway construction industry.
This is like saying housing construction only benefits developers. Grow up.
OK, sorry, yes, more highways also benefits the auto industry and the fossil fuels industry.
Infrastructure benefits commerce which is the economy. There are more bridges that connect VA to DC (6) than that connect MD to VA (4). That is a pretty serious problem for the state of Maryland a reason why the MD economy is struggling.
Not sure where you got your bridge counts but I would recheck them. You know what else benefits an economy? Highly educated residents
Maybe you should check a map? Certainly would benefit from having higher educated people. I would encourage you to join them. MD/VA Bridges (4): - Point of Rocks - American Legion - Wilson - Nice DC/VA Bridges (6): - Chain - Key - Roosevelt - Memorial - 14th St - 395
