Parents please parent! There is no need to start dating at 14!!!
That’s not the question. The question is whether there’s a need to actively stop 14-year-olds from dating. And there’s not.
Sure there is. That’s too young to handle the emotional ups and down of a romantic relationship.
+1
You didn't date when you were 14?
Lol, no. Our rule was I had to be out of the house. Frankly, I am grateful.
Well, your parents sounds insanely controlling (weird religion?). That is not develomentally normal. No wonder you have so much anxiety.0
Not religious at all. Just really academic focused so we all got into great state schools/Ivies. I suspect most kids on good academic paths don’t date in high school. I would rather my child focus on academics and getting into a good college to prep for their future than end up depressed and/or pregnant at 16.
LOL you missed out. I went to great college and grad school after dating, having sex, partying and being normal (while excelling at what is generally considered the top private in DC).
NP I believe you. But then again, your parents probably had the cash to bail you out if you screwed up. Not all of us had that option and our kids certainly don't have it now.
+1 exactly. I was strictly middle class. My parents couldn’t afford for any one of us to screw up badly.
