I find it amusing that you’re more upset about the PP than the fact that these neo-Nazis have co-opted the phrase. I suppose it doesn’t actually bother you that much.
Are they really coopting it if you’re the only one who thinks that? Or are you in effect coopting it for them?
And reveling in your ignorance is a real hallmark of your classical education? Wouldn’t the right response be “wow if that’s true that would really suck and maybe I should look into it and determine if this is an issue”. Instead you just dismiss it. Clearly if it was true you don’t really care.
What’s true? What exactly are you trying to claim? Because Milo blathered something about Gibbon, we all have to cancel the term “classical education”?
I’m not the PP. I just think it’s amusing that it doesn’t seem to bother you in the least that “Milo” and his goons could have co-opted the phrase. You don’t even want to bother examining it, which is supposedly a hallmark of the education you claim to favor. It suggests that even it was true it doesn’t make you that uncomfortable to be associated with it.
So, your are suggesting that because Milo uses a word incorrectly, everyone should abandon their schools for fear of being misunderstood? You are giving the goons an awful lot of the power they crave.
Where I have said that people should abandon schools? What you should be doing is training all of your anger on people like Milo and Mr. classical Christian education to prevent them from taking over your phrase. You just want to live in denial and the next thing you know, it’s going to mean exactly what they want it to mean. You already have doofuses on this thread thinking it means studying classics and not the specific pedagogy, so the sacrosanct nature of your phrase has already been weakened. You all clearly are upset about something but it’s misplaced. It’s not about wokeness or a culture war with the left. There is no progressive/leftist side to this. It’s you against the right wing. And you’re not even aware it’s a war because you rather drag someone who’s trying to point it out.
lol. “taking over your phrase.” you continue to believe that anyone cares about this. do you obsessively track Milo in order to be sure to cleanse the world of all phrases and words he uses? anyway it’s clear you know absolutely nothing about the topic here (classical education and classical schools in the area) so imma mute you now.
