[/quote] I work in a large school system and understand FERPA, FAPE, etc. Many special ed students are handled with kid gloves when it comes to punishment and consequences. There are high school kids who return to public school settings from residential treatment centers, and very few educators know about their violent pasts (and certainly not the other parents in the school).
