No. No Teacher Recommendations, no Map-R (for SMCSM). Just 7th grades and Q1 8th grades + Map-M + essays/statements. That's it.

What I didn't understand from last night's meeting is whether or not they know if kids went to the TPMS magnet. [b]Transcripts clearly list that the 7th grade math class was "Mag Algebra I[/b]" which is only available at TPMS. It also indicates the math class was different (2x speed + more content). Is that scrubbed to eliminate the "Mag" - I think that would be disingenuous and unfair, only because the class is materially different. The answers were unclear.

It's odd that they redact Math but not Sci or CompSci then: those show up as Mag on the report cards. Anyway assuming they see the whole report card, it will be obvious purely because Mag kids have 8 classes and all other kids have 7. [/quote]

Some schools have 8 classes, not 7 outside magnet schools.  Others have 7.  However, not all schools offer computer Science classes, which is unfair to those who aren't offered it.

From the application, the only requirement is Algebra which is a pretty low bar given some of our kids are doing Algebra 2 in 8th.[/quote]
