I have kids in two different Big3 privates and the schools do not offer a practice PSAT in 10th or 11th. My kid's friends at Walls took a practice test both years. I'm not saying this results in different scores in 11th but there is definitely no emphasis on the PSAT at my kids' privates.
Love it when the private school parents desperately try to hold onto the status they think their private school confers on their kids.
What is heck is wrong with you? You're clearly insecure in YOUR choice. I'm sorry you can't afford better for your kids. I was only answering those who falsely claimed that the private schools emphasize the PSAT. They don't. And again I'm not sure it impacts eventual scores.
NP but I also wouldn’t say public schools emphasize the PSAT. DCPS has an in school day where all students either take the PSAT (9th, 10th, 11th) or SAT (12th). This isn’t really to emphasize national merit scholarship, it’s literally to get kids to take the sat because they are more likely to if it’s during school and to get kids used to the standardized tests in the lower HS grades. Privates might not emphasize the psat but DCPS is aiming to just get kids to sit for the test. It’s quite apples to oranges.
