You could ask the school’s college counselor if they might mention the infrequency in their letter. Some colleges are sponsors of the scholarships. Usually they are small (like 2k/year), but some are larger (USC’s 50%.) I would imagine the schools that contribute to the awards are more likely to boost admissions odds, but that’s just a guess.
