+1 [b]I don’t think Macy’s or Nordstrom is going to close early[/b], but the random small specialty stores might. I also noticed that stores open later these days. If you get to the mall when it first opens at 10 am or whatever, a fair few stores will still be closed until 11. [/quote]

They won't close early but good luck finding a sales associate to help you after peak hours...as many others have said, it's a staffing issue. Stores simply cannot attract/retain sufficient staff, and only certain staff (managers) can close the store out at night. Go earlier, OP - this is an entirely predictable dilemma.
