Not at all a waste of time. But try to push yourself a little bit more each time.
+1. Exercise is about showing yourself what your body can do. If right now, your body can jump rope for two minutes, do that and watch as it becomes three over time. Or do two minutes a couple times a day. I'm am solidly in the every little bit counts camp because every little bit often evolves into a little bit more.
+1 Start with a little. If you don't, it will never become a lot. Over time, you'll realize that you can jump rope for three minutes, then four or five. You realize that you can walk at a brisk for a half a mile, then a mile, then a couple of miles. Then you can do a more strenuous hike, or start jogging. You can't go zero to sixty overnight, but each little bit builds a little bit of strength or endurance or speed, and it adds up.
