It’s not that affluent and it definitely isn’t close-in to DC.  But if you don’t mind congestion, commuter hell, and a ton of families with very narrow interests, it’s probably better than living in Herndon or Ashburn. [/quote]

How far do you have to drive to see a play, concert, or a foreign or art house film? Now ask the same question of someone who lives in Bethesda, NW DC, or Silver Spring and you’ll see PP’s point about narrow interests, lack of culture, etc.[/quote]

While you may have to go to places to watch culture. I just hang out with my neighbors that are from all over the world. My kids play cricket with neighbors and I’ve learned how to grow some interesting varieties of vegetables from SE asia from another neighbor.
