The ones I knew were legacies of the black sororities, and it’s my understanding that members of these sororities tend to maintain their active affiliation throughout their life (more so than members of other sororities do, anyway). In other words, the black sorority network provides more benefit later in life than the typical traditionally white one in terms of networking, etc. [/quote]
