Your DH is not only controlling, he’s stupid and knows nothing about nutrition or weight loss. Even if it was a big heaping tablespoon, your extra scoop of Parmesan had like 40 calories in it. I wouldn’t tolerate that kind of commentary even if I was helping myself to a second slice of Cheesecake Factory cheesecake, but to behave like that over a bit of cheese is truly asinine. I’m actually embarrassed for him that he has such poor emotion regulation and control over himself.
Agree, and part of that seems to be insecurity. I wonder if one of his friends said something like "I'm so glad my wife kept her high school weight" or something ridiculous like that. Or he always had this vision of a wife of a certain body shape and wants to mold his wife into that vision, because he wanted to impress people. He has major issues. And his "sense of humor" is terrible. "You must really like Parmesan?" Literally that is the kind of thing people said to me in middle school when I put something extra on my lunch tray. Embarrassing for him.
