I lived in Forest Hills it was awesome but UDC crowd has made it nearly criminal neighborhood closer to Van Ness metro. I had my car broken into, my nanny was robbed at gun point and pushed to the ground; active sniper situation by Burke only couple months ago. I would look at Woodley Park, Kalorama, Mt Pleasant streets that are closest to the Zoo, even Capitol Hills select streets. Chevy Chase if you don’t mind commute
LOL @ suggesting Mt Pleasant or Cap Hill to get away from crime in Van Ness.
This lol. I was in agreement with them because of what is happening on Connecticut Ave until I read Mt Pleasant to get away from crime in van ness. Like what?
NP. there are some very quiet, safe pockets in Mt Pleasant. But def agree on staying away from Van Ness and the interior of Mt Pleasant.
The Mt Pleasant streets that are closest to the Zoo and Crestwood are way more pleasant in the evenings than AU Park or UDC. The pot smokers occupy Soap Stone trail at night. Tenleytown metro has also deteriorated. DC is not 100% safe anywhere but some streets have less crazy folks screaming under influence at night
