You think you understand childhood development really well as a teacher but then have your own kid and realize it's much more complex. I think it's important for both parents AND teachers (and pediatricians, nannies, coaches, etc.) to have some humility when it comes to understanding kids. None of us knows everything and it works best when we work together to figure it out.[/quote]
