I posted an update a few days ago. I caught H smoking while he was watching the baby. And if that wasn’t bad enough, someone called CPS because of it. I hope this is a wake up call for him.

He’s finally stepped it up at home. All the things I’ve been begging for help with - cooking, cleaning without having to be asked, caring for the dogs - he’s now finally doing. He got groceries this weekend and is making dinner this week. He gets up at 5am to walk the dogs. He cleaned the whole house this morning. And it all just makes me more angry. He was capable of these things all along, he just chose not to do them and let me take on more than my fair share of the burden.

On the positive side of things, I’ve now taken this as license to do what I want. I thought I was being a good wife and mom by putting everyone else’s needs ahead of my own. Obviously my kids are still my top priority, but I’ve been taking the time I usually dedicate to housework and H to do things that I want to do. It’s actually really nice. [/quote]

This won’t last! He can be on his best behavior for maybe a couple weeks, a month tops, but then it’s back to his old ways.
