I think you should always apply, unless maybe the announcement was like the month after you interviewed and they at that point didn’t want to hire you. A year later it could be a posting for what is really a different job or has a different manager. [/quote]

Months after the second round last year, they sent an email to candidates letting us know the hiring process was taking much longer than expected.  I think partly because they’d just gotten a new CFPB Director after some delays.  The email told us to reapply for the new posting if we wished to express our continued interest, so I did.  Just not sure exactly when they are going to decide, was told sometime this summer after my second round this spring.  It’s fine either way, just crazy that federal hiring drags on for so long.[/quote]
