But also, everyone has limits. If you quarantine whole classes for 10 days, do you think the parents will be able to take a day or 2 off the next month just in case the symptoms that look like allergies are not? If you want to stop diseases from spreading families have to keep kids home at the beginning of an illness, not after they stop being infectious but still have a lingering cough or runny nose. Having draconian policies on keeping kids home does not help, it just means I will send my kid in as long as I can get away with it so that I can keep my job.[/quote]

Yes, they do. They are YOUR children. You need multiple backup plans. “I had no choice to send my sick kid to school/daycare” is a lazy, pathetic copout.[/quote]
