I could have written this.

As the mother of teen boys, I am thrilled with my sweet and kind boys who even as older teens still give me hugs and kisses in public and who text me memes they find funny and who come into my office and ask me how my day went. I hate shopping anyhow and one of my boys likes getting mani/pedis so I do that with him. I have a hard time seeing how I would be closer to a daughter.

My boys have had their rebellious moments and one of them continually forgets to turn in homework he has completed which drives me crazy, but it’s nothing like the problems I see in some (not all) of my friends with daughters. It really makes me wonder what we are doing to teen girls in this world because they are going through hell. [/quote]
