The only people who happen to be in the situation where a college costs $80k are families who make between ~$170-370,000 and are looking at elite private universities and liberal arts colleges. That is a small sliver of the population, believe it or not. And those families still have way more options than an LMC or poor family, because LMC or poor kids have only recently started getting into tippy-top schools that meet full needs. Most poor kids aren't getting into Ivies; they are taking out loans for the local community college. I care more about academically qualified kids who can't even afford UVa. Get a grip. [/quote]
