They didn't renew his contract.  Giving him a "one year contract" was just a convenience for the school board since they knew they couldn't search for someone during a pandemic.  They chose not to renew him for a real contract -- which is the same as letting him go.  Yes, he did them a favor by taking a one year contract.  But, THEY LET HIM GO, thinking they could find someone better... and look where they are now.[/quote]
