Unhooked FCPS male for class of 2023 has excellent test scores (800-M, 720-ERW one sitting) and grades (4.4 GPA) is delusional about his application prospects to MIT, Harvard and Columbia for CS. Despite showing him the admission numbers, he is "half assing" his couple of matches/safeties by not showing interest. I realize mom and dad dont know anything and really afraid this is going to come back to bite him.
Hang in there. It’s only April. There is plenty of time for hs counselors to do their job. There will be a different vibe as he and all of his classmates formally begin the application process in later this summer. He will hear stories of the bloodbath of 2022 from classmates about siblings. Counselors will share cautionary tales. Of course, nothing you say matters. But he is listening whether or not he shows it.
:D thanks. Sure as he'll hope so!
