Well, things just got a little more interesting. Two new candidates filed today: Michael Fryar for the at-large seat Dawn Iannaco-Hahn for the District 5 seat Which means both races now have three candidates apiece and so will appear on the primary ballot in June. The current slate: At-large: Michael Fryar J. Domenic Giandomenico Karla Silvestre (incumbent) District 1: Jay Guan [Incumbent Judy Docca has not yet filed] District 3: Scott Joftus (incumbent) Julie Yang District 5: Valerie M. Coll Dawn Iannaco-Hahn Brenda Wolff (incumbent)
Oh good lord. This new at-large candidate, Michael Fryer, sounds like a complete nut job. His website is entitled, “Wasted Genius” https://michaelfryar.com/
He's one of those guys that thinks he smarter and funnier than he really is and just comes off as awkward and uncomfortable. But....I'll still vote for him.
WHY?
First. Accountability for the current members. And second, read his bio. Read it with an open mind. It's not like he's completely unqualified. In fact, he's probably MORE qualified than some people on the board today. Ultimately, at the end of the day, he will be on the right side of history, as someone that advocated to open schools.
