We are inbound for Janney and are number 25 on the waitlist for PK. Is there any chance? I have no idea how much these things move.
You'll get in. The wait list moved about 30 spots each of the last two years. However, it will likely be late in the summer that you get a spot. We're at Janney PK this year and it's been incredible. I really can't imagine it being any better (and we've had children at several top DC preschools). I don't know of any parent who doesn't feel the same. We all feel very fortunate to have our kids there.
Not the PP who said this, but we are another IB family at Janney that got in that may or may not take it. It is not an issue with the school, we have an older child there and are very happy with it. It is more whether it is right to move my child from her current school and we are IB so will be going there for K regardless. The cost savings and convenience of only having one school are a huge pull in the direction of attending but I am trying to think about what is best for her. Agree that the waitlist has moved a lot ever since they added a third pre-K class, everyone I know eventually got called off the waitlist in the past two years. Back when it was two classes there was very little movement, and we never got off the waitlist the first time around with a low number.
