Good for her. I mean, if I had had millions in the bank and a husband in my early 20s, and no soul-sucking desk job, I might have been persuaded to just pop out a few kids. Why not?
Because it's trashy to have kids so young.
It's not trashy. I had my kids at 24 and 26. At 43, my kids were both in college. My friend had her first at 41. I would hate that. We were lucky we had money and were smart.
Sure. Your situation does get majorly trashy when the oops baby comes along at 45 and the college kid is babysitting someone they could have given birth to. People forget women are fertile for many decades. I know quite a many 'early' parents now paying for college and daycare at the same time. At least the bedrooms are being put to good use though.
My H had a kid when he was 22, and then one with me when he was 42. The 20yo has never babysat for us, tho. Is that trashy?
If the 20-year-old was born when your DH was 22, your current baby is a brand-new pandemic baby. So a) not surprised the 20yo hasn't babysat and b) I hope your stepchild was getting plenty of time with their father despite your situation - if not, yes trashy. Major.
