Tradition was really big at our house---and even when we got older she would still do all of the easter baskets, Valentine little snacks or candy, etc. St Patricks day was Corned beef and cabbage for dinner and green treats.  It was a joyous house to grow up in.

I have always done this stuff for my kids (boys now 14 and 16) and they still appreciate it and look forward to it.  School can be a rough place some times and a little pick me up like this at home can never be a bad thing!!

My mom still dropped off Valentine's days gift bags with card, $10 and some chocolate for my kids last week--and she didn't forget me either:).  I sent her flowers today.

The joke at dinner was how, of course, my mom always has a card for any holiday, etc. from my kids and husbands--but they love it.  [/quote]

Agree. My mom always gave us a card with $5 and a heart-shaped box of Russell Stovers chocolates for Valentine’s Day. Small but special. [/quote]
