Does anyone have a link or source or insight as to the immediate next steps? When will the assembly vote again? When will Youngkin sign? Everything I read has said it'll be fast, but since it's not right this second, I'm getting excited/anxious. Is there an end date in sight? --totally vaxxed, religiously masked, still got Covid family who's really looking to ditch the masks.
The House of Delegates' Committee on Education will be hearing the bill tomorrow (Friday) morning. I read through how the bill moves through the chambers. I believe it will need to be read on three different days in the House of Delegates. So my guess is the earliest it would land on Youngkin's desk would be late Wednesday or Thursday. With the emergency clause added, both chambers would have to vote again - so Thursday or Friday. I've read reports that it the earliest it would go into law would be Feb 21st, which makes sense.
