NP here. I'm gay and married to my husband. We are in our mid thirties. Gay couples remotely near our age or younger do not wear wedding rings on the right hand. It is very 1980 thing to wear it on your right ring finger. I cannot imagine another gay man wearing a ring on right ring finger unless he is at least 50+. In response to two other questions posed An earring meaning gay is also 1980s. By the 1990s it was common for straight men. And, Anderson Cooper is gay. I say this with 100% certainty.
So then do you wear a ring on your left ring finger or not at all? You're saying it's the more "old-school" gay men who wear rings on the right finger? Interesting. I met 2 married men (in 50's) last night who both had rings on- but I guess I didn't realize which hand.
PP here. We wear ours on our left ring fingers. And I didn't mean to suggest that all gay 50+ year olds wear wedding bands on the right ring fingers, only that those less than 50 (give or take) would not wear them on their right.
