I think when threads get too long people start missing the point. I've read, "don't blame Whitney, it's the public's fault." The entire point was, the public is stupid. It isn't her fault that idiots idolize her life. Second point, to compare her to Princess Diana is also insulting. Name ONE charitable thing Whitney did? Diana was an all around good person, good mother, and good citizen of our planet. Third point, a lot of hypocrisy going on. You say we shouldn't discount all of the good she has done because of her addiction, but we are automatically supposed to discount the bad? How does that work?
Whitney did a LOT of charity work for the United Negro College Fun, and she donated all the proceeds from her National Anthem single sales to relief efforts during the Gulf War. She also donated tons of money to her home church. Please don't assume because she was an addict that she did nothing charitable. Her death was shocking and sad and sudden. She was a huge talent, and at the very least, despite whatever you think of her, she was a mother to an 18 year old daughter. She died alone in a bathtub and left behind her young child. It's a sad way to go, and even sadder that such a huge talent was extinguished.
