Kids eat what their parents eat. My kids have been eating sprouts and asparagus since they were toddlers. My middle kid has been requesting bouillibase for her bady for the last 4 years. My oldest (13) routinely eats raw oysters. My youngets gets peel and eat shrimp anytime we go out and its on the menu. There are no 'adults only' foods. Just kids whose parents let them down.
I eat all of those things and SOME of my kids eat all of those things. But they are all individuals who have their own tastes, regardless of what I fed them when they were too little to express tastes. One loves broiled calamari and grilled shrimp and fancy stinky cheese, but hates chicken and beef in almost every form. One loves sushi and avocado toast and arugula and chicken wings, but cannot tolerate anything spicy. One loves any kind of protein, but cannot tolerate greens except in smoothie format. You can feed kids a variety of stuff, but many will still be "picky" in different ways. And I feel like Swiss Chard is a hard sell for about 95% of kids -- it's just so bitter and kid's taste receptors are particularly sensitive to bitter, for evolutionary reasons.
