My son was told they are not allowed to drink from their water bottles all day due to Omicron
I’m annoyed about that. Mine has to leave instruction and go in the hallway. It’s going overboard.
It takes a minute. If missing ONE minute of instruction is going to kill your kid, then your kid probably needs to be in a different classroom setting.
My kid is vaccinated, and so are his peers, who are masked in a room with a HEPA filter. Are we following the science, or not?
It’s a sip of water. I’m not saying we should unmask or not vaccinate, but like I said- that’s completely overboard. Should also add they’re eating breakfast in the same room.
Have you worked with kids? If you let them unmask for X, then they will ask for Y, or just assume Z is ok. If they really need to hydrate, they can. It’s not the end of the world if it takes more effort for the next week or two.
I’m a high school teacher in APS. They do the same thing, but they all have water bottles in class, and it’s not a big deal. Because it’s not. Like I said, they’re eating breakfast in the same room, so seems like they’re complying with water just fine.
